The introduction to our new Sunday night study using the book not a fan. by Kyle Idleman continues this week.
Kyle has a question for you. Is your relationship with Christ one where you sit on the sidelines, rooting for Him and His cause, or are you willing to get in the trenches and work, showing your level of commitment to him?
We start a new study this Sunday night using Kyle's bestseller not a fan. Becoming A Completely Committed Follower of Jesus. We invite you to join us as we explore our individual commitments to Christ during this study.
Copies of the book will be available at our sessions, and you can access session notes, scriptures, videos, and other resources on our not a fan page.
2012: Think Biblical; Live Radical!
On December 17, 1903 at 10:35 a.m. Orville Wright made history as he flew 120 feet in twelve seconds over the sand dunes of the Outer Banks. Historians note his venture as the first powered and sustained flight and the beginning of aviation history. But his flight that windy morning at Kill Devil Hills was not the beginning. For nearly 25 years Orville and his brother Wilbur had a dream, an unquenchable desire to defy gravity in a motorized aircraft. Along the way they progressed and they regressed, they succeeded and they failed, they moved forward and they moved backward. But along the way, they never lost sight of their dream and one windy morning: exhilaration!
We, the congregation known as Central Baptist Church have a dream (vision) – to be a congregation Knowing God's Word, Showing God's Love, and Growing God's Kingdom. As we begin a new church year with new plans and ideas we realize that along the way we will progress, we will regress, we will succeed, and we will fail, we will move forward and we will move backward. But along the way, we pray for an unquenchable desire that will cause us to never lose sight of our dream - and one day: exhilaration!
Our theme for this year is: THINKING BIBLICALLY, LIVING RADICALLY!
Francis Chan asserts: "It's exhilarating to be part of a group of believers who are willing to think biblically rather than conventionally, to be part of a body where radical living is becoming the norm." Knowing God's word will provide the basis for THINKING BIBLICALLY and Showing God's Love and Growing God's Kingdom will compel and propel us to LIVING RADICALLY.
May it be exhilarating to be part of a group of believers known as Central Baptist Church with a dream and an unquenchable desire!
- Grace and peace, Tim
